LOCAL BAPTIST MINISTRIES IN KENTUCKY

  1. The Kentucky Baptist Convention (KBC)

“Kentucky Baptist Convention” holds a dual meaning; on one had it announces the denomination while on the other it refers to its yearly meet-up. KBC is a Government owned Baptist Convention which is associated with the Southern Baptist Convention. KBC comprises approximately 2,400 autonomous Baptist Churches in Kentucky; 71 local associations are also allied with KBC. The total number of members can be estimated at 780,000.

KBC Programs include:

  1. The Disaster Relief

Kentucky Baptist Disaster Relief is proud to have 2,500 trained volunteers who can help save lives, remove debris and rubble for easy access to the disaster area, cook and deliver hot meals during man made or natural disasters as well as help families during the rehabilitation phase. KBC Disaster Relief is a very strong program which also works in collaboration and coordination with same programs in other states.

ii)             Kentucky Baptist Campus Ministry
The main purpose of the Campus Ministry is to urge local churches to collaborate with colleges and universities for enabling the current or would-be students and their parents so attend church.
 
iii)           Regional Consultants
  1. There are five agencies and institutions in Kentucky that are part of the Kentucky Baptist Convention through various degrees of cooperation, however they work under their respective Boards.
  2. Northern Kentucky Baptist Mission

The Northern Kentucky Baptist Mission manages the sponsorship of a regional Disaster Relief Unit of the Kentucky Baptist Convention. The Disaster Relief Unit has experienced and trained volunteers who have travelled within and outside of Kentucky.

3.    Kentucky Baptist Foundation: Supporting Kentucky Baptist churches and organizations

The Kentucky Baptist Foundation mainly provides consultation services to Kentucky and all other entities of the Southern Baptists as well as to certain other registered charities.

Students who are well reputed members of an affiliated church of KBC can also apply for scholarships relevant to their financial requirement. 

Rockcastle Association of Kentucky Baptists was established in 1871 and comprises 22 Baptist Churches. Their mission is to provide assistance to all member churches for evangelism, missions, education and benevolence.

5.    Clear Creek Baptist Bible College: Education For Christian Service Since 1926

Clear Creek Baptist Bible College has its accreditation from the Association for Biblical Higher Education. The College provides Biblical education to those who have a calling for serving the Lord.

The College offers Bachelor’s and Master’s Programs while all activities on the campus are Gospel-focused.

Kentucky Mountain Bible College offers undergraduate and higher educational in Bible Studies. Their mission is to prepare servants of God who have:

  • John Leland Baptist College: “FOR CHRIST AND THE CHURCH” 

The main objective of the College is to provide Theological education to those who would be serving in Baptist Churches as pastors, however students who are not interested in Theology can choose from a variety of other disciplines offered in the Undergraduate and Graduate programs.

  1. University of Louisville Baptist Campus Ministry

The main goal of Baptist Campus Ministry, a Christian Organization, is to encourage all Christian students at the university campus to come to Jesus and experience the peace and joy.

 

  1. Campbellsville University

Campbellsville University was established in 1906 and has been registered as a non-profit 501 (c)(3) corporation. The University offers a wide variety of programs that include non-credit technical programs, certificates, associates, undergraduate and graduate and PhD programs, all the while grooming students as Christian servant leaders.  

  1. University Of Kentucky Central Baptist Eyes

The Mission of the University Of Kentucky Central Baptist Eyes is “to alleviate the burden of blindness across the globe…”. Almost 200 people visit the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science on daily basis, travelling from across Kentucky. The University strives to train and educate learned professionals who would provide the highest level of eye care in the times to come.

  1. Baptist Health Louisville

Baptist Health Louisville provides a wide range of out-patient and in-patient healthcare services, with the capacity of 519-beds for in-patients. It also excels in nursing services and has been awarded the Magnet Designation three times.  

For the year 2021-22, Baptist Health Louisville was voted as the Number 1 hospital in the Metro Louisville area and Number 4 in the state of Kentucky.

  1. Baptist Health La Grange

Baptist Health La Grange was previously known as Baptist Hospital Northeast. It is a 90-bed hospital facility which provides a wide range of healthcare services such as:

  1. Emergency Department that is stroke certified by the Joint Commission;
  2. George & Beverly Rawlings Women’s Center;  
  3. Cardiac Center with diagnostic capabilities;
  4. Infusion Center for receiving chemotherapy treatment and renovated pre- and post-op and PACU areas;
  5. A comprehensive diagnostic imaging capabilities, including the recent addition of 3D mammography and stereotactic breast biopsy, and a private, up-to-date Sleep Center;
  6. Intensive and critical care;
  7. Pulmonary services;
  8. Rehabilitation and sports medicine;
  9. Ambulatory care.
  1. Baptist Health Corbin

Baptist Health Corbin was previously called the Baptist Regional Medical Center. It has a capacity of 273-beds and offers outpatient diagnostic, inpatient, rehab services, home care, occupational medicine, physical and behavioral therapy. Health services include:

  1. Cardiology;
  2. Orthopedics;
  3. Pain management and wound care;
  4. Full range of women’s services, including obstetrics and breast care;
  5. Cancer care
  6. Diabetic treatments.
  1.  Kentucky Baptist Hospital

The Kentucky Baptist Hospital, was established in 1924 as a 150-bed facility. It included School of Nursing that trained graduate nurses. Today Baptist Health has more than two thousand licensed beds throughout Kentucky.
