• Established Peace Youth Club
• Celebrated International Days
In 2005, I established a Not-for-Profit by the name of “Interfaith League Against Poverty” (I-LAP).
Establishing the Interfaith League Against Poverty (I-LAP) stemmed from a dire need to combat escalating religious intolerance, extremism, and victimization, particularly against religious minorities, post-9/11. My primary goal was to promote interfaith harmony and peace in Pakistan.
The vision of I-LAP is to cultivate a new generation of peace workers, defenders, and negotiators, catalyzing positive change to prevent conflicts and sustain peace among Pakistan’s diverse ethnic and religious communities as well as around the world.
To achieve this vision, I initiated interfaith dialogues, formed interfaith and peace committees, student peace groups at university level, Peace Youth Club for school and college level students, and utilized media to underscore the significance of peaceful coexistence. Training sessions were conducted to foster understanding, acceptance, religious tolerance, and forgiveness—the essential components for establishing and maintaining peace among people.
I-LAP took a leading role in observing International Days to underscore the significance of peacebuilding, tolerance, women, mothers, and other pertinent causes. Recognizing the impact of dedicating even a single day to highlight these crucial components, we celebrated International Days with utmost fervor. Ambassadors, High Commissioners, and other distinguished members of the Diplomatic Corps, along with individuals from diverse backgrounds, actively participated in these celebrations.
Through forging strong networks with religious scholars and international peace organizations, I-LAP made significant strides. I was honored to serve as an Advisory Board Member of the International Network for Museums for Peace. Under my leadership, I-LAP formed informal peace groups in various educational institutions, including one state university and two private universities, as well as four private schools.
A pivotal accomplishment for me was establishing Pakistan’s first Peace Museum, which garnered global recognition for my efforts in interfaith harmony by national and international media and other sectors, that matter. The Peace Museum included a Peace Library, serving as a sanctuary for students of comparative religions, scholars, and academics alike.
Additionally, I am also the pioneer for starting “Interfaith Christmas Dinners” which provided a platform for people of different faiths to celebrate and learn about the teachings of Jesus Christ, receiving acknowledgment from entities like USAID, the US Embassy, and other notables.
My commitment to peacebuilding for peaceful co-exitance interfaith harmony, and religious freedom earned appreciation from diverse quarters, including the diplomatic corps, religious scholars from all faiths, parliamentarians, journalists, policy makers, the armed forces, and youth, both in Pakistan and globally. These collective efforts strive towards a more peaceful and inclusive world.

In 2015, I founded “The Institute of Emerging Leaders School System” to offer free education to 250 students from marginalized communities in Pakistan. Edwards College Peshawar 2019
Jaranwala Incident 2023 (21 churches attacked)
Following the tragic and brutal assassination of my dear friend Shahbaz Bhatti in 2011, the Federal Minister of Minority Affairs, I launched a Socio-Political Movement called the “Pakistan Interfaith League” (PIL). This movement aims to advocate for the importance of Rule of Law and Justice for All, while speaking out against discriminatory laws like 295 (B) (C), commonly known as the Blasphemy Laws, enshrined in the Constitution of Pakistan, which perpetuate constitutional discrimination against religious minorities.
The Pakistan Interfaith League serves as a broader canvas and a strong platform to address the biased attitudes of political parties, government entities, the state, and the public towards religious minorities, particularly Christians. It provides an avenue to advocate and lobby not only within Pakistan but also internationally, while also sensitizing Pakistani citizens about their rights and obligations and empowering them to demand justice for religious minorities in the country.
Through the Pakistan Interfaith League platform, I have addressed various blasphemy cases, including those of Rimsha Masih, Kot Radha Kishan, Edwards College, and the Orange Train Line where the government was attempting to seize properties belonging to four Churches in District Lahore, Pakistan.
In recognition of these efforts at both local and international levels, I was invited by the US State Department to participate in the “2019 International Religious Freedom Ministerial” held in Washington DC. Additionally, in 2022, my contributions were acknowledged by the Government of Pakistan, and on December 10th, the Governor of Punjab, Pakistan, honored me with the Human Rights award.
V- Media Initiatives
Highlights
• Established a Web Channel-HumSub TV
• Hosted “Red Zone with Sajid Ishaq”
• Hosted News Reviews on HumSub TV
I established a Web Channel by the name of HumSub TV(DM). It is web-based rights based, news and opinion channel, which aims to act as a catalyst for social change in Pakistan by promoting national integration and spreading awareness among the people about their basic rights and importance of the rule of law as enshrined in the Constitution of Pakistan.
HumSub TV was established to empower the masses to have access to information related to their basic human rights established in the constitution of Pakistan. Also, it highlights the prevailing discriminatory laws in the constitution of Pakistan, which instead of promoting inclusion, divide the citizens based on their religious affiliations. It also educates citizens on the stated obligations as citizens of Pakistan.
I also host a program called “Red Zone with Sajid Ishaq,” conceived with the aim of shedding light on irregularities and mismanagement within government functionaries, policies, and their implementation. It addresses obstacles hindering citizens’ access to justice and highlights mismanagement within the Church in Pakistan. The program specifically focuses on discriminatory behaviors and harassment faced by religious minorities at the hands of the majority.
“Red Zone with Sajid Ishaq” serves as a platform to advocate for inclusion, religious freedom, interfaith harmony, and religious tolerance. It promotes collective wisdom and peaceful coexistence by advocating for equal opportunities for individuals from minority communities in all aspects of life. Through this program, we strive to foster a society where every individual, regardless of their religious background, can thrive and contribute positively to the community.
